Bed bugs are priced differently from every other pest, and the reason explains most of what goes wrong with the treatment.
General pest control is quoted by the size of your home — 1BHK, 2BHK, 3BHK — because it is a walk-through treatment of the whole place. Bed bugs are quoted per room, because the treatment is not a walk-through. It is a slow, deliberate application into seams, joints, frames and skirting in the specific rooms where the bugs are living, and doing one room properly takes longer than spraying a whole flat.
The second thing that decides the price is that one visit is not a treatment. Bed bug eggs are largely unaffected by the chemicals that kill adults, and they hatch over the following one to two weeks. A treatment that is not followed up is a treatment that resets the population rather than ending it. Any quote should include the second visit — and if it does not, that is the first question to ask.
A note on these numbers. XpertWorker is a marketplace, not a service company. We do not set any professional's price and we never charge you a paisa. Every figure below is an indicative market range collected from what independent pest professionals in Delhi NCR generally charge — a guide to help you judge a quote, not a quote itself. The professional you choose sets their own price and gives you a free quote before starting.

Bed bug treatment cost in Delhi NCR
Per room, and normally for a course of two visits rather than one. The general pest control rows are shown for contrast — they are a different treatment and will not solve a bed bug problem.
| Job | Typical market range | What it usually includes |
|---|---|---|
| Bed bug treatment (per room) | ₹1,000–2,500 | The core job. Ask whether the follow-up visit is inside this figure |
| General pest control — 2BHK | ₹800–1,500 | A general crawling-insect treatment. Not a bed bug treatment — different chemistry, different method |
| General pest control — 3BHK | ₹1,200–2,200 | Same, for a larger home |
| Herbal / odourless treatment | ₹1,500–3,500 | Lower odour, commonly asked for with infants or asthma in the house |
| Annual pest control (AMC, per year) | ₹2,000–5,000 | Worth considering only if you have had repeat infestations |

This is the single most useful thing to understand before you pay anyone, because it is the reason most people believe their treatment "did not work".
The chemicals used against bed bugs kill the insects they contact. They are far less effective against eggs, which are cemented into seams and cracks and are protected by their shell. Those eggs hatch over roughly the next one to two weeks — and the newly hatched bugs are walking on surfaces that, by then, have lost much of their residual effect.
- Visit one kills the active population — the adults and nymphs that are biting you now. Within a few days things improve dramatically, and it is very easy to conclude you are done.
- The gap is deliberate. It is timed to let the eggs hatch rather than to let anyone forget about it.
- Visit two kills what hatched. This is the visit that actually ends the infestation, and it is the one people skip because the problem appears to have gone.
Ask plainly: "Is the follow-up visit included in this price, and when will it be?" A professional will have a clear answer with a date attached.
What moves the price up
| Factor | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Number of rooms affected | The main driver. Bed bugs spread along routes people use — treating one room while they live in the next is money wasted |
| How long it has been going on | An early infestation is confined to the bed. An old one is in skirting, sockets, wardrobes and sofa seams, and needs far more application time |
| Amount of furniture | Every joint, seam and frame is a harbourage. A room with a divan bed, a sofa and a full wardrobe is a longer job than a room with a bed |
| Herbal / low-odour products | Cost more and sometimes need an extra visit, which is a fair trade if there are infants or asthma in the home |
| Shared walls | In flats they travel between units. If a neighbour has them, budget for recurrence regardless of how well your own treatment is done |
What you must do before they arrive
Bed bug treatment depends on preparation more than any other pest job. A professional arriving to an unprepared flat either wastes the visit or treats around the problem.
- Strip all bedding and wash it hot. 60°C or above, then a hot tumble dry if you have one. Heat kills every life stage including eggs — this is the one thing you can do that the chemicals struggle with.
- Bag what you strip, in the room. Do not carry loose bedding through the flat to the machine; that is exactly how a one-room problem becomes a three-room problem.
- Pull beds and sofas away from walls so the technician can reach frames, skirting and sockets.
- Empty bedside drawers and the lower wardrobe. Anything stored under the bed comes out.
- Vacuum thoroughly, then dispose of the bag outside immediately.
- Do not spray anything yourself first. Over-the-counter sprays scatter the population into new harbourages and make the professional treatment harder. This is the commonest reason a job needs a third visit.
