These two jobs are grouped here because people book them together and because both are routinely mis-compared. A mattress is priced per piece, a carpet per square foot, and a sofa per seat — so three quotes can look wildly different while describing identical work.
Delhi adds its own reason to care. Soft furnishings are where the city's dust ends up: a mattress, a rug and a sofa hold far more of it than any hard surface, and they release it back into the room every time someone sits down. That is the honest case for cleaning them — a lower dust load in the room, not a medical outcome.
A note on these numbers. XpertWorker is a marketplace, not a service company. We do not set any professional's price and we never charge you a paisa. Every figure below is an indicative market range collected from what independent professionals in Delhi NCR generally charge — a guide to help you judge a quote, not a quote itself.

Soft furnishing cleaning rates — Delhi NCR, 2026
Note the units. This is the row people get wrong when comparing two quotes.
| Job | Typical market range | What it usually includes |
|---|---|---|
| Mattress cleaning (per piece) | ₹300–700 | Per mattress. A king and a single are usually not the same price |
| Carpet cleaning (per sq ft) | ₹8–20 | By area — a 6×9 rug is 54 sq ft |
| Sofa shampooing (per seat) | ₹250–500 | Per seat. A three-seater is three units |
| Floor / tile scrubbing (per sq ft) | ₹3–10 | Often booked alongside |
| Full home deep cleaning — 2BHK | ₹2,500–4,500 | Soft furnishings are usually extra on top of this |

Carpet work is quoted per square foot, and most people have no idea what their rug measures. Two minutes with a tape saves the whole negotiation.
- Length × width in feet. A 6×9 ft rug is 54 sq ft; an 8×10 is 80 sq ft.
- Wall-to-wall carpet is the room's floor area, so a 12×14 bedroom is 168 sq ft — considerably more than most people expect, which is why whole-room carpet is the expensive case.
- Thickness and pile change the price. A thick shaggy rug holds several times the water of a flat dhurrie and takes proportionately longer to clean and dry, so expect the upper end.
- Say if it is silk, wool or handmade. These are not machine-shampoo candidates — a wet-clean can bleed the dyes or shrink the backing. That is a dry-clean job, and a professional who does not ask what the rug is made of is not the one to hand it to.
The drying question — and why it matters more in Delhi
This is the part nobody asks about and everybody regrets. Wet shampooing puts water into a mattress or carpet, and it has to come back out.
- Ask what extraction they use. A machine that injects and then vacuums the water back out leaves a surface that is damp, not wet. A scrub-and-mop approach leaves it soaked, and a soaked mattress in Delhi humidity is a smell problem within two days.
- Book for a dry, sunny morning — not during the monsoon, and not in the evening. It needs the rest of the day and moving air.
- Expect several hours before a mattress is usable. Plan not to sleep on it that night if the weather is humid. Ask for the realistic time rather than the optimistic one.
- Dry cleaning or foam-based methods use much less moisture and are the sensible ask for a mattress in monsoon, for a delicate rug, or where a room simply cannot be aired.
- Open the windows and run the fan afterwards, whatever the method.
What cleaning does — and what it does not
Worth being straight about, because this is a category where a lot is claimed.
- It removes dust, grit, surface soil and much of what causes odour. That is real and it is the reason to do it.
- It is not a treatment for anything medical. A cleaner reduces the dust load in a room; that is the honest claim, and anyone promising more than that is selling.
- It is not bed bug treatment. If you have bites in a line, blood spots on the sheet, or dark specks along the mattress seam, cleaning will not solve it — that is a pest job, and doing them in the wrong order wastes the cleaning. See our bed bugs guide and the treatment cost guide.
- Old stains may not come out. A stain that has been through a Delhi summer has usually set. Ask for an honest assessment before rather than an argument after.
- Vacuuming between cleans does most of the work. It is free, and it is what keeps grit from cutting the fibres.
